El pasado mes de marzo tuvo lugar el <a href=\"http:\/\/aecop.net\/noticias-aecop\/v-congreso-internacional-aecop\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>V Congreso Internacional de Aecop,<\/strong><\/a> (<a href=\"http:\/\/aecop.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Asociaci\u00f3n Espa\u00f1ola de Coaching ejecutivo-organizativo y Mentoring<\/strong><\/a>), y estaba previsto que participara <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Judith_E._Glaser\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Judith Glaser<\/strong><\/a>, realizando una ponencia sobre<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.creatingwe.com\/books-videos\/books\/604-conversational-intelligence\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> \u201cInteligencia conversacional\u201d.<\/a>\u00a0 Hablamos sobre la\u00a0Inteligencia conversacional, qu\u00e9 es, por Judith Glaser.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #f48473;\">Inteligencia conversacional por Judith Glaser<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.creatingwe.com\/\"><strong>Judith Glaser es una escritora estadounidense<\/strong><\/a>, ejecutiva de negocios y antrop\u00f3loga de organizaciones. Es fundadora y directora general de Benchmark Communications, y co-fundadora de Creating WE Institute. Durante su carrera, ha trabajado con clientes como Clairol, Citibank, Pfizer, Burberry, American Airlines y Verizon. Glaser es autora de siete libros, entre los m\u00e1s vendidos destacan: Creating WE: Change I-Thinking to We-Thinking &amp; Build a Healthy Thriving Organization, The DNA of Leadership, and Conversational Intelligence: How Great Leaders Build Trust and Get Extraordinary Result. Pero lo que m\u00e1s me sorprendi\u00f3 de ella fue su humanidad y generosidad.<\/p>\n<p>A pesar de que unos d\u00edas antes del congreso le detectaran un grave problema de salud, ella decidi\u00f3 cumplir su compromiso y estar presente de forma virtual en el congreso, haci\u00e9ndonos llegar sus conocimientos y compartiendo con nosotros sus experiencias y hallazgos. Para m\u00ed supuso <strong>un claro ejemplo de servicio<\/strong> y <strong>orientaci\u00f3n a los dem\u00e1s,<\/strong> un gran modelo de comportamiento digno de admirar.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #f48473;\">Principales ideas de la\u00a0Inteligencia Conversacional<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Me gustar\u00eda recomendar en esta ocasi\u00f3n su libro <strong>\u201cConversational Intelligence\u201d,<\/strong> que trata de forma magistral esa conexi\u00f3n con los dem\u00e1s a trav\u00e9s de las conversaciones. Es decir, la <strong>inteligencia conversacional<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c9stas son las <strong>principales ideas<\/strong> que yo destacar\u00eda:<br \/>\nLa principal premisa de la inteligencia conversacional es: <strong>&#8220;El siguiente nivel hacia la excelencia depende de la calidad de nuestra cultura, que depende de la calidad de nuestras relaciones, que, a su vez, depende de la calidad de nuestras conversaciones. Todo ocurre a trav\u00e9s de conversaciones &#8220;.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1. La<strong> inteligencia conversacional<\/strong> nos da el poder <strong>para influir en nuestra neuroqu\u00edmica<\/strong>. Las conversaciones tienen el poder de cambiar el cerebro, (estimulan la producci\u00f3n de hormonas y neurotransmisores, estimulan los sistemas del cuerpo y las v\u00edas nerviosas, no s\u00f3lo en el momento de la conversaci\u00f3n, sino tambi\u00e9n, en ocasiones, durante toda la vida.).<\/p>\n<p>2. La<strong> inteligencia conversacional<\/strong> nos da el poder de expresar nuestros pensamientos y sentimientos de manera que <strong>pueden fortalecer las relaciones y el \u00e9xito<\/strong>. Las conversaciones son m\u00e1s que la informaci\u00f3n o las palabras que hablamos. Como l\u00edderes, comunicamos que estamos tristes o contentos con casi todas las conversaciones.<\/p>\n<p>3. La <strong>inteligencia conversacional<\/strong> nos da el poder para <strong>influir en la forma en que interpretamos la realidad<\/strong>. Las conversaciones afectan diferentes partes del cerebro de diferentes maneras. Mediante la comprensi\u00f3n de la forma en que las conversaciones impactan nuestra escucha podemos determinar c\u00f3mo escuchamos y esto determina nuestra manera de interpretar y dar sentido a nuestro mundo.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #f48473;\">Tableros de niveles de conversaci\u00f3n en la inteligencia conversacional<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><strong>*Primer nivel:\u00a0&#8220;Decir y Preguntar&#8221;:<\/strong> Cuando las personas est\u00e1n intercambiando informaci\u00f3n, actualizaciones, hechos. Aqu\u00ed no hay mucha confianza, las personas se est\u00e1n centrando m\u00e1s en lo que necesitan para obtener el uno del otro para validar o confirmar su visi\u00f3n de la realidad.<\/p>\n<p><strong>* Segundo nivel: Posicional: &#8220;Defender y Preguntar&#8221;:<\/strong> Estoy defendiendo lo que quiero\/pienso y me estoy preguntando acerca de las creencias de la otra persona para que poder influirle hacia mi punto de vista. Aqu\u00ed la confianza es condicional y eleva el nivel de incertidumbre, que tambi\u00e9n puede desencadenar el miedo, (\u00bfMe puedo abrir o no? \u00bfPuedo confiar o no?).<\/p>\n<p><strong>* Tercer nivel: Transformacional: &#8220;Compartir y Descubrir&#8221;:<\/strong> Cuando comparto en primer lugar, el cerebro recibe una se\u00f1al de que voy a ser vulnerable y que abrir\u00e9 mis pensamientos, ideas y sentimientos. Llegamos a ser &#8220;mentores del experimento&#8221; y vamos a ser capaces de co-crear entre nosotros para lograr un mayor \u00e9xito compartido.<\/p>\n<p>Cuando interaccionamos, la comunicaci\u00f3n trata menos acerca de las palabras pronunciadas de lo que trata acerca de la propia din\u00e1mica de la interacci\u00f3n que tiene lugar a nivel no verbal; es en este nivel donde se establece que la confianza, (o no).<\/p>\n<p>En 1967 Albert Merabian determin\u00f3 los tres elementos principales que juegan un papel cuando nos comunicamos. Son los siguientes, junto con la importancia de cada uno para las personas:<br \/>\n<strong>* Las palabras: 7%<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>* El tono de voz: 38%<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>* El comportamiento no verbal (por ejemplo, las expresiones faciales y contacto visual): 55%.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Cuando conectamos con los dem\u00e1s, nuestra mente alterna entre una serie de <strong>cinco preguntas<\/strong> cableadas a un ritmo tan r\u00e1pido que nuestra mente consciente no sabe que lo est\u00e1 haciendo. Estas preguntas y las respuestas que recibimos definen la forma en que nuestra neuroqu\u00edmica nos permite relacionarnos con los dem\u00e1s:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Pregunta 1: PROTEGER: \u00bfC\u00f3mo me protejo a m\u00ed mismo y qu\u00e9 necesito?<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Pregunta 2: CONECTAR: \u00bfQui\u00e9n me ama, qui\u00e9n me odia y puedo confiar en esta persona<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Pregunta 3: PERTENECER: \u00bfD\u00f3nde pertenezco y encajo en esto?<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Pregunta 4: SER FUERTE: \u00bfQu\u00e9 necesito para aprender a tener \u00e9xito?<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Pregunta 5: COMPROMETERME: \u00bfC\u00f3mo creo valor con los dem\u00e1s?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #f48473;\">C\u00f3mo construir la confianza en uno mismo<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><strong>5 pasos para construir la confianza:<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>1. Estar presente:<\/strong> Mant\u00e9n una actitud abierta a los dem\u00e1s para estar en sinton\u00eda con tu entorno de relaci\u00f3n. La gente quiere conectar y si somos m\u00e1s transparentes acerca de lo que est\u00e1 pasando vamos a enviar la se\u00f1al de que &#8220;estamos todos juntos en esto&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2.- Decir a la gente cu\u00e1l es su posici\u00f3n.<\/strong> La gente tiene que saber d\u00f3nde se encuentra para que puedan dejar de lado sus miedos y las preguntas, &#8220;\u00bfSoy lo suficientemente bueno?&#8221; y &#8220;\u00bfPertenezco?&#8221;. Hacer saber a los dem\u00e1s a qu\u00e9 pueden atenerse construye y fortalece las relaciones.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3.- Proporcionar contexto en cada comunicaci\u00f3n.<\/strong> Sin tener ese contexto el sentimiento puede ser de confusi\u00f3n e incertidumbre. Proporcionar un contexto mueve a la gente de la incertidumbre a la comprensi\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p><strong>4.- Catalizar la co-creaci\u00f3n en las conversaciones.<\/strong> Crea un mayor nivel de compromiso y la co-creaci\u00f3n hace que las personas construyan una imagen de \u00e9xito compartido, lo que disminuye el miedo de perderse en la multitud o ser eclipsado por las personas con mayor estatus y poder.<\/p>\n<p><strong>5.- Utilizar la honestidad en todo momento.<\/strong> Nadie quiere decir la verdad cuando se va a herir a alguien o hacer que esa persona se sienta mal, por lo que huimos. Decir la verdad, con mucho tacto y dentro del contexto apropiado construye confianza.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Y t\u00fa, \u00bfqu\u00e9 pasos utilizas m\u00e1s frecuentemente para construir una relaci\u00f3n de confianza? \u00bfC\u00f3mo suelen ser tus interacciones? \u00bfEn qu\u00e9 nivel de conversaci\u00f3n acostumbras a situarte?<\/strong><br \/>\n________________________________________________________________________________<\/p>\n<p>(English version)<br \/>\nLast March I had the opportunity to participate in the <a href=\"http:\/\/aecop.net\/noticias-aecop\/v-congreso-internacional-aecop\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Fifth International Congress of Aecop,<\/strong><\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/aecop.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>(Spanish Executive Coaching &amp; Mentoring Association)<\/strong> <\/a>and it was planned that <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Judith_E._Glaser\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Judith Glaser<\/strong> <\/a>gave a speech.<\/p>\n<p>Judith Glaser is an American author, academic, business executive and organizational anthropologist. She is the founder and chief executive officer of Benchmark Communications, and co-founder of the Creating WE Institute. During her career, she has worked with clients including Clairol, Citibank, Pfizer, Burberry, American Airlines, and Verizon. Glaser has authored seven books including best-sellers Creating WE: Change I-Thinking to We-Thinking &amp; Build a Healthy Thriving Organization, The DNA of Leadership, and Conversational Intelligence: How Great Leaders Build Trust and Get Extraordinary Result.<\/p>\n<p>But what surprised me the most was her humanity and generosity. Although a few days before the congress a serious health problem was detected she decided to fulfill her commitment and she was virtually present at the conference, giving us her knowledge and sharing with us her experiences and discoveries. For me it was a clear example of service and guidance to others, a great model of behavior worthy of admiration. Now I would like to recommend her book <a href=\"http:\/\/www.creatingwe.com\/books-videos\/books\/604-conversational-intelligence\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>&#8221; Conversational Intelligence &#8220;<\/strong> <\/a>which shows masterfully that connection with others through conversations.<\/p>\n<p>These are <strong>the main ideas that I would like to highlight :<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The premise os Conversational Intelligence is <strong>\u201cTo get the next level of greatness depends on the quality of our culture, which depends on the quality of our relationships, which depends on the quality of our conversations. Everything happens through conversations\u201d.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1. Conversational intelligence gives us <strong>the power to influence our neurochemistry,<\/strong> even in the moment. Conversations have the power to change the brain (they stimulate the production of hormones and neurotransmitters, stimulate body systems and nerve pathways, not only for a moment, sometimes for a lifetime).<\/p>\n<p>2. Conversational intelligence give us<strong> the power to express our inner thoughts and feelings<\/strong> to one another in ways that can strengthen relationships and success. Conversations are more than the information or words we speak. As leaders, we communicate that we are sad or happy with almost every conversation.<\/p>\n<p>3. Conversational intelligence gives us <strong>the power to influence the way we interpret reality.<\/strong> Conversations impact different parts of the brain in differente ways. By understanding the way conversations impact our listenig we can determine how we listen and this determines how we interpret and make sense of our world.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Conversational Dashboard<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>* Level I: Transactional: \u201cTell and Ask\u201d:<\/strong> people are exchanging information, updates, facts. Here there is not a lot of trust, people are focusing more on what they need to get from each other to validate or confirm their view of reality.<\/p>\n<p><strong>* Level II: Positioanl: \u201cAdvocate and Inquire\u201d:<\/strong> I am advocating for what I want and I am enquiring about your beliefs so I can influence you to my point of view. Here trust is conditional, and it raises the level of uncertainty, which can also trigger the fear networks, (Can I open up or not? Can I trust or not?)<\/p>\n<p><strong>* Level III: Transformational: \u201cShare and Discover\u201d:<\/strong> When I share first, my brain receives a cue that I will be vulnerable with you and that I will open up my inner thoughts, ideas and feelings. We become \u201cmentors of the experiment\u201d and we will be able to co-create with one another to achieve greater shared success.<\/p>\n<p>Communication through interacation is less about the words spoken than it is about the interaction dynamics that take place at the nonverbal level; it is at this level that trust is established, (or not).<\/p>\n<p>In 1967 Albert Merabian isolated three elements that play a role when we convey feelings and attitudes to each other face to face. These are the followings one, with their importance for people:<br \/>\n<strong>* Words: 7%<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong> * Tone of voice: 38%<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong> * Nonverbal behavior (such as facial expressions and eye contact): 55%.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When we connect with others, our mind toggles through a series of five hardwired questions at a pace so rapid our conscious mind does not know it is doing it. these questions and the answers we receive define the way our neurochemistry enables us to engage with others:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Question 1: PROTECT: How do I protect myself, and do I need to?<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Question 2: CONNECT: Who loves me, who hates me, and can I trust this person?<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Question 3: BELONG: Where do I belong and fit in?<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Question 4: BE STRONG: What do I need to learn to be successful?<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Question 5: PARTNER: How do I create value with others?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>5 STEPS TO BUILD TRUST<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>1. Be present:<\/strong> Make yourself open to others by being tuned into your relationship environment. People want to connect and if you are more transparent about what is going on you will send the signal that \u201cwe are all in this together\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2.- Tell people where they stand.<\/strong> People need to know where to know where they stand so they can let go of their fears and the questions, \u201cAm I good enough?\u201d and \u201cDo I belong?\u201d. Letting people know where they stand builds and strengthens relationships.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3.- Provide context in every communication.<\/strong> Without background fear can be elevated by confusion and uncertainty. Providing context moves people from uncertainty to understanding.<\/p>\n<p><strong>4.- Catalyze co-creating in conversations.<\/strong> Create higher levels of engagement and co-creation so people can bluid a picture of shared success, which diminishes the fear of being lost in the crowd or overshadowed by people with greater status and power.<\/p>\n<p><strong>5.- Use honesty at all times.<\/strong> No one like to tell the truth when it will hurt someone or make that person look bad, so we fudge. Tell the truth, tactfully and within the appropiate context does not mean spin. Do not make a situation sound better than it is, even if you can.<\/p>\n<p><strong>And you; What steps do you use most frequently to build a trusting relationship? How are your interactions?
