Today I would like to address this aspect that I find on many occasions in\n coaching sessions<\/a>\n<\/strong> with my clients, and I think it is an interesting interpersonal competence that is very useful today, professional visibility.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

On many occasions my clients tell me: “well, it’s just that I dedicate myself to work, to carry out my projects and achieve my results, I don’t spend time telling what I do. I realize that maybe that’s why a lot of people in the company don’t know what I do or how long it takes.” And that is precisely the key. We know that nowadays, with so many possible options in the market, the visibility of a brand is vital to be recognized, valued and requested by the customers who make up its target audience.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

What is visibility?<\/h2>\n\n

Visibility shows us the person’s ability to strategically communicate their differentiating value, the capabilities, values and performance that identify them and, above all, make them interesting for their target audience. <\/strong>This ability can be developed and trained and is therefore related to other competencies such as results orientation, communication, influencing and customer orientation.<\/p>\n\n

Nowadays it is essential to develop this ability to make our work and our value visible, <\/strong>not only if we are self-employed, but also if we do it for others. Making ourselves “visible” <\/strong>will help us to have opportunities for development, promotion, or participation in new projects in the company, to name a few examples.<\/p>\n\n

It is related to the construction of our own \n “personal brand<\/a>\n “<\/a>\n<\/strong> and that professional authority that we are creating will serve us during the time we work in the organization and also in the future if we decide to collaborate with other organizations.<\/p>\n\n

HOW CAN I TRAIN MY VISIBILITY?<\/h2>\n\n

\u2022 In this visibility development, reflect on what projects you have recently completed in your organization that you would like to give greater visibility. Think about and write down the answers to the following questions:<\/p>\n\n

1-Which people or teams within the organization have benefited from what you have done?2-What are the benefits or improvements it has brought you?3-What are the difficulties you had to overcome to carry out the project successfully?4-What has this project allowed you to learn or develop on a personal or professional level?5-What are the most important resources you have had to invest to carry it out (time, effort, people, equipment, systems, etc.)?How aware are the beneficiaries of the results of these ideas? What are your managers like?7-What would you like to convey to them that they don’t know from the previous reflections?<\/p>\n\n

Visibility in organizations<\/h2>\n\n

\u2022 Also reflect on how you currently participate in company meetings and events and what else you can do to make yourself more visible.<\/p>\n\n

1-How can you communicate your ideas and concerns more clearly?2-What kind of activities or projects could you get involved in your organization to have a greater impact and be able to “have a voice”?3-How can you prepare your interventions in meetings with other managers and colleagues to contribute interesting ideas?4-What talks, forums or events would be interesting for you to participate in to expand your network of contacts, both in your area of specialization or sector and in others?<\/p>\n\n

Dare to put into practice the ideas you identify. Take it one step at a time, focus on one idea at a time, and set a date to see the results you achieve.<\/p>\n\n

Nowadays it is also very important to use online communication as a tool to increase your professional visibility, <\/strong>also if you are working in a company for someone else. It is a good way to share content that defines your way of working, your professional criteria, the values that identify you, the skills and abilities you offer. Building a good professional image on social media, consistent with your real professional performance, will open doors to future collaborations, both in your current job in your company and new opportunities that you may not even imagine now.<\/p>\n\n

Online visibility and communication<\/h3>\n\n

To do this, remember:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

1-Share interesting and useful content consistently, (it’s better to be consistent than to do it very frequently at first and then leave the networks “unattended” for long periods of time.<\/p>\n\n

2-Show your opinions, ideas, provide useful and practical information, don’t limit yourself to forwarding or sharing information created by others, dare to generate your own content.<\/p>\n\n

3-Offer an authentic image, be yourself.<\/p>\n\n

4-Respond and interact with the people who read or follow you, create community.<\/p>\n\n

5-Follow a coherent strategy with the image you want to build, don’t pretend to be “everywhere”, choose well where you are going to invest your time and effort.<\/p>\n\n
